Talkeetna
Talkeetna is located in the shadow of Denali, at the junction of three rivers. This Location offers scenic vistas, flightseeing to Mt. McKinley, world-class salmon fishing, rafting and boating excursions, and a wide variety of other Alaskan adventures. It provides the traveler a look at the real Alaska as well as the best view of McKinley and the Alaska Range.
Originally the site of a Tanaina Indian village, Talkeetna developed as a major camp when the railroad was built. Talkeetna is located at the junction of the Talkeetna and Susitna Rivers. It is on a spur road, 23 miles off of the George Parks Highway, 115 miles north of Anchorage.
